Tuao

Tuao is a philippine municipality in the province Cagayan in Region II Cagayan Valley which be­longs to the Luzon group of islands. The municipality Tuao is seated about 31 km west-north-west of province capital Tuguegarao City and about 353 km north of Philippine main capital Manila.

Tuao is a 1st class municipality. Regarding urbanization Tuao is classified as partly urban. Tuao occupies an area of 215.50 km². By the end of 2007 Tuao was the home of 57,154 residents. Thus by average 265.22 people are living on one km².

Administratively the Municipality of Tuao is subdivided into 32 barangays. 2 compose the center of the city wheras the other 30 are in the outlying areas. Some of them are even several kilometers away from the center of the Municipality. The most populous are Malalinta, Villa Laida, Lakambini, Poblacion II (Ward II Centro), San Vicente (Maleg), San Juan, Angang, Poblacion I (Ward I Centro), Mambacag, Santo Tomas, Bicok, Barancuag, Palca, Alabiao, Malumin.

Among the bigger cities and muni­ci­pa­li­ties in the neigh­bor­hood of Tuao there are City Of Isabela (City Of Isabela) 100 km south-south-east, Ilagan (Isabela) 98 km south-east, City Of Cauayan (Isabela) 97 km south-south-east, Tuguegarao City 31 km east-south-east, City Of Tabuk (Kalinga) 31 km south, Baggao 58 km east-north-east, Solana 26 km east-south-east, Aparri 70 km north-north-east, Tumauini (Isabela) 68 km south-east as well as 70 km south-south-east of Tuao the municipality Roxas (Isabela).
