Tuao is a philippine municipality in the province Cagayan in Region II Cagayan Valley which belongs to the Luzon group of islands. The municipality Tuao is seated about 31 km west-north-west of province capital Tuguegarao City and about 353 km north of Philippine main capital Manila.
Tuao is a 1st class municipality. Regarding urbanization Tuao is classified as partly urban. Tuao occupies an area of 215.50 km². By the end of 2007 Tuao was the home of 57,154 residents. Thus by average 265.22 people are living on one km².
