Tuao Barangays

Tuao is a philippine municipality. It is located in the province Cagayan in Region II Cagayan Valley which is a part of the Luzon group of islands. The municipality Tuao is seated about 31 km west-north-west of province capital Tuguegarao City and about 353 km north of Philippine main capital Manila. The geographic coordinates of Tuao are 17° 43' 59'' N, 121° 27' 0'' E.

Administratively the Municipality of Tuao is subdivided into 32 barangays. 2 compose the center of the city wheras the other 30 are in the outlying areas. Some of them are even several kilometers away from the center of the Municipality.

According to the 2007 census, Tuao has a population of 57,154 residents and belongs to the 294 emerging cities and municiplities in the Philippines which have more than 50,000 inhabitants but did not reach 100,000 yet. Based on the number of its inhabitants Tuao is number 364 of the most populous cities of the Philippines and at 208 in Luzon group of islands and at 5 of the most populous cities of province Cagayan. With an area of 215.50 km² Tuao is one of the cities with a smaller urban area. Based on its area area, it ranks as the 13rd of the biggest cities of the province of Cagayan.

According to the Philippine income classification for provinces, cities and municipalities Tuao is a 1st class municipality. The urbanization status of Tuao is classified as partly urban.

Among the bigger cities and muni­ci­pa­li­ties in the neigh­bor­hood of Tuao there are City Of Isabela (City Of Isabela) 100 km south-south-east, Baggao 58 km east-north-east, City Of Tabuk (Kalinga) 31 km south, Tuguegarao City 31 km east-south-east, City Of Cauayan (Isabela) 97 km south-south-east, Ilagan (Isabela) 98 km south-east, San Mateo (Isabela) 95 km south, Roxas (Isabela) 70 km south-south-east, Aparri 70 km north-north-east as well as 26 km east-south-east of Tuao the municipality Solana.
