Silangan is a barangay of the philippine municipality San Mateo in the province Rizal
which is part of the Luzon group
of islands. The municipality San Mateo with a population of about 184,860 and its 15 barangays belongs to the urban areas in the Philippines. Silangan had 25,504 residents by the end of 2007.
