San Fernando

San Fernando is a philippine municipality in the province Camarines Sur in Region V Bicol Region which be­longs to the Luzon group of islands. The municipality San Fernando is seated about 16 km west of province capital Pili and about 258 km east-south-east of Philippine main capital Manila.

San Fernando is a 4th class municipality. Regarding urbanization San Fernando is classified as partly urban. San Fernando occupies an area of 71.76 km². By the end of 2007 San Fernando was the home of 30,697 residents. Thus by average 427.77 people are living on one km².

Administratively the Municipality of San Fernando is subdivided into 22 barangays. 4 compose the center of the city wheras the other 18 are in the outlying areas. Some of them are even several kilometers away from the center of the Municipality. The most populous are Tagpocol, Calascagas, Daculang Tubig, Bocal, Pinamasagan, San Joaquin, Cotmo, Bical, G˝aran, Pipian, Marag˝i, Santa Cruz, Buenavista (Pob.), Rizal (Pob.), Del Pilar (Pob.).

Among the bigger cities and muni­ci­pa­li­ties in the neigh­bor­hood of San Fernando there are City Of Ligao (Albay) 55 km south-east, Iriga City 33 km east-south-east, Naga City 15 km north-east, Daraga (Locsin) (Albay) 77 km south-east, Legazpi City (Albay) 79 km south-east, City Of Tabaco (Albay) 66 km east-south-east, Libmanan 17 km north-west, Polangui (Albay) 47 km south-east, Pili 16 km east as well as 83 km north-west of San Fernando the municipality Labo (Camarines Norte).
