Montevista

Montevista is a philippine municipality in the province Compostela Valley in Region XI Davao Region which be­longs to the Mindanao group of islands. The municipality Montevista is seated about 11 km north of province capital Nabunturan and about 940 km south-east of Philippine main capital Manila.

Montevista is a 3rd class municipality. Regarding urbanization Montevista is classified as partly urban. Montevista occupies an area of 225.00 km². By the end of 2007 Montevista was the home of 35,192 residents. Thus by average 156.41 people are living on one km².

Administratively the Municipality of Montevista is subdivided into 20 barangays. One forms the center of the city wheras the other 19 are in the outlying areas. Some of them are even several kilometers away from the center of the Municipality. The most populous are New Dalaguete, New Cebulan (Sambayon), Banglasan, Camantangan, Bankerohan Norte, New Calape, Lebanon, Canidkid, Bankerohan Sur, Dauman, Concepcion, Banagbanag, Camansi, Prosperidad, San Vicente.

Among the bigger cities and muni­ci­pa­li­ties in the neigh­bor­hood of Montevista there are City Of Panabo (Davao Del Norte) 54 km south-west, City Of Tagum (Davao Del Norte) 34 km south-west, City Of Valencia (Bukidnon) 100 km west-north-west, Davao City (Davao Del Sur) 82 km south-south-west, City Of Mati (Davao Oriental) 87 km south-south-east, City Of Bislig (Surigao Del Sur) 67 km north-north-east, Island Garden City Of Samal (Davao Del Norte) 77 km south-south-west, Monkayo 14 km north-north-east, Quezon (Bukidnon) 97 km west as well as 48 km west-south-west of Montevista the municipality Santo Tomas (Davao Del Norte).
