Mariveles Barangays

Mariveles is a philippine municipality. It is located in the province Bataan in Region III Central Luzon which is a part of the Luzon group of islands. The municipality Mariveles is seated about 28 km south-south-west of province capital City Of Balanga and about 59 km west-south-west of Philippine main capital Manila. The geographic coordinates of Mariveles are 14° 25' 59'' N, 120° 28' 59'' E.

Administratively the Municipality of Mariveles is subdivided into 18 barangays. One forms the center of the city wheras the other 17 are in the outlying areas. Some of them are even several kilometers away from the center of the Municipality.

According to the 2007 census, Mariveles has a population of 102,844 inhabitants and belongs to the 147 emerging cities in the Philippines with more than 100.000 residents. Based on the number of its inhabitants Mariveles is number 137 of the most populous cities of the Philippines and at 90 in Luzon group of islands. With an area of 153.90 km² Mariveles occupies a relatively small urban area. Accordingly, there is a high population density. In Mariveles, by average, 668.25 people live in one square kilometer. With this value, Mariveles is only number 188 in Luzon and is nationally ranked 238th of the most densely populated cities in the Philippines.

According to the Philippine income classification for provinces, cities and municipalities Mariveles is a 1st class municipality. The urbanization status of Mariveles is classified as partly urban.
