Ilagan Barangays

Ilagan is a philippine municipality. It is located in the province Isabela in Region II Cagayan Valley which is a part of the Luzon group of islands. The municipality Ilagan is seated about 308 km north-north-east of Philippine main capital Manila. The geographic coordinates of Ilagan are 17° 7' 59'' N, 122° 7' 59'' E.

Administratively the Component City of Ilagan is subdivided into 91 barangays. 5 compose the center of the city wheras the other 86 are in the outlying areas. Some of them are even several kilometers away from the center of the Component City.

Ilagan is the province capital of province Isabela. According to the 2007 census, Ilagan has a population of 131,243 inhabitants and belongs to the 147 emerging cities in the Philippines with more than 100.000 residents. Based on the number of its inhabitants Ilagan is number 95 of the most populous cities of the Philippines and at 62 in Luzon group of islands. With an area of 1,166.26 km² Ilagan is one of the largest cities in the Philippines in respect to urban areas. It is the 12nd biggest city of Luzon island group. On the other hand, it ranks 17th of the biggest cities by urban area in the Philippines.

According to the Philippine income classification for provinces, cities and municipalities Ilagan is a 1st class municipality. The urbanization status of Ilagan is classified as partly urban.

Among the bigger cities and muni­ci­pa­li­ties in the neigh­bor­hood of Ilagan there are City Of Cauayan 43 km west-south-west, City Of Santiago 79 km south-west, Baggao (Cagayan) 88 km north-west, Tuguegarao City (Cagayan) 69 km north-west, City Of Tabuk (Kalinga) 79 km west-north-west, City Of Isabela (City Of Isabela) 27 km south-west, San Mateo 64 km west-south-west, Echague 70 km south-west, Solana (Cagayan) 74 km north-west as well as 60 km south-west of Ilagan the municipality Alicia.
