Guiuan is a philippine municipality in the province Eastern Samar in Region VIII Eastern Visayas which belongs to the Visayas group of islands. The municipality Guiuan is seated about 70 km south-south-east of province capital City Of Borongan and about 646 km south-east of Philippine main capital Manila.
Guiuan is a 2nd class municipality. Regarding urbanization Guiuan is classified as partly urban. Guiuan occupies an area of 175.49 km². By the end of 2007 Guiuan was the home of 43,469 residents. Thus by average 247.70 people are living on one km².
Administratively the Municipality of Guiuan is subdivided into 60 barangays. 15 compose the center of the city wheras the other 45 are in the outlying areas. Some of them are even several kilometers away from the center of the Municipality. The most populous are Bucao, San Antonio, Dalaragan, Poblacion Ward 2, Poblacion Ward 3, Santo Niņo, Canawayon, Poblacion Ward 4-A, Tagporo, Alingarog, Hagna, Banaag, Habag, Camparang, Poblacion Ward 5.
