Dao Barangays

Dao is a philippine municipality. It is located in the province Capiz in Region VI Western Visayas which is a part of the Visayas group of islands. The municipality Dao is seated about 22 km south-south-west of province capital Roxas City and about 399 km south-south-east of Philippine main capital Manila. The geographic coordinates of Dao are 11° 23' 38'' N, 122° 41' 9'' E.

Administratively the Municipality of Dao is subdivided into 20 barangays. 2 compose the center of the city wheras the other 18 are in the outlying areas. Some of them are even several kilometers away from the center of the Municipality.

According to the 2007 census, Dao has a population of 31,420 residents and is part of the big group of 1073 cities and municipalities in the Philippines which have more than 10.000 residents but did not reach 50.000 population yet. Based on the number of its inhabitants Dao is number 808 of the most populous cities of the Philippines and at 174 in Visayas group of islands and at 11 of the most populous cities of province Capiz. With an area of 88.64 km² Dao is one of the cities with a smaller urban area. Based on its area area, it ranks only as the 14th of the smallest cities of the province of Capiz.

According to the Philippine income classification for provinces, cities and municipalities Dao is a 4th class municipality. The urbanization status of Dao is classified as partly urban.

Among the bigger cities and muni­ci­pa­li­ties in the neigh­bor­hood of Dao there are Bago City (Negros Occidental) 97 km south, Cadiz City (Negros Occidental) 83 km south-east, Iloilo City (Iloilo) 79 km south, Bacolod City (Negros Occidental) 85 km south-south-east, Sagay City (Negros Occidental) 96 km south-east, Roxas City 22 km north-north-east, City Of Talisay (Negros Occidental) 79 km south-south-east, Oton (Iloilo) 81 km south-south-west, City Of Passi (Iloilo) 32 km south as well as 72 km south-south-east of Dao the municipality Silay City (Negros Occidental).
