Claveria Barangays

Claveria is a philippine municipality. It is located in the province Misamis Oriental in Region X Northern Mindanao which is a part of the Mindanao group of islands. The municipality Claveria is seated about 30 km east-north-east of province capital Cagayan De Oro City and about 789 km south-south-east of Philippine main capital Manila. The geographic coordinates of Claveria are 8° 36' 35'' N, 124° 53' 40'' E.

Administratively the Municipality of Claveria is subdivided into 24 barangays. One forms the center of the city wheras the other 23 are in the outlying areas. Some of them are even several kilometers away from the center of the Municipality.

According to the 2007 census, Claveria has a population of 43,514 residents and is part of the big group of 1073 cities and municipalities in the Philippines which have more than 10.000 residents but did not reach 50.000 population yet. Based on the number of its inhabitants Claveria is number 542 of the most populous cities of the Philippines and at 138 in Mindanao group of islands and at 7 of the most populous cities of province Misamis Oriental. With an area of 579.63 km² Claveria is one of the cities with a smaller urban area. Based on its area area, it ranks only as the 1st of the smallest cities of the province of Misamis Oriental.

According to the Philippine income classification for provinces, cities and municipalities Claveria is a 1st class municipality. The urbanization status of Claveria is classified as rural.
