Bauang Barangays

Bauang is a philippine municipality. It is located in the province La Union in Region I Ilocos Region which is a part of the Luzon group of islands. The municipality Bauang is seated about 10 km south of province capital City Of San Fernando and about 228 km north-west of Philippine main capital Manila. The geographic coordinates of Bauang are 16° 31' 50'' N, 120° 19' 59'' E.

Administratively the Municipality of Bauang is subdivided into 39 barangays. 2 compose the center of the city wheras the other 37 are in the outlying areas. Some of them are even several kilometers away from the center of the Municipality.

According to the 2007 census, Bauang has a population of 69,837 residents and belongs to the 294 emerging cities and municiplities in the Philippines which have more than 50,000 inhabitants but did not reach 100,000 yet. Based on the number of its inhabitants Bauang is number 267 of the most populous cities of the Philippines and at 156 in Luzon group of islands and at 2 of the most populous cities of province La Union. With an area of 73.15 km² Bauang occupies a relatively small urban area. Accordingly, there is a high population density. In Bauang, by average, 954.71 people live in one square kilometer. With this value, Bauang is only number 124 in Luzon and is nationally ranked 153rd of the most densely populated cities in the Philippines.

According to the Philippine income classification for provinces, cities and municipalities Bauang is a 1st class municipality. The urbanization status of Bauang is classified as partly urban.

Among the bigger cities and muni­ci­pa­li­ties in the neigh­bor­hood of Bauang there are City Of Urdaneta (Pangasinan) 66 km south-south-east, Dagupan City (Pangasinan) 53 km south, San Carlos City (Pangasinan) 67 km south, Malasiqui (Pangasinan) 68 km south, Baguio City (Benguet) 31 km east-south-east, City Of San Fernando 9 km north, Lingayen (Pangasinan) 58 km south, La Trinidad (Benguet) 27 km east-south-east, Calasiao (Pangasinan) 57 km south as well as 79 km south of Bauang the municipality Bayambang (Pangasinan).
