Ballesteros

Ballesteros is a philippine municipality in the province Cagayan in Region II Cagayan Valley which be­longs to the Luzon group of islands. The municipality Ballesteros is seated about 90 km north-west of province capital Tuguegarao City and about 428 km north of Philippine main capital Manila.

Ballesteros is a 4th class municipality. Regarding urbanization Ballesteros is classified as partly urban. Ballesteros occupies an area of 120.00 km². By the end of 2007 Ballesteros was the home of 31,044 residents. Thus by average 258.70 people are living on one km².

Administratively the Municipality of Ballesteros is subdivided into 19 barangays. 2 compose the center of the city wheras the other 17 are in the outlying areas. Some of them are even several kilometers away from the center of the Municipality. The most populous are Payagan West, Baran, Cabayu, Mabuttal West, Cabuluan West, San Juan, Cabuluan East, Mabuttal East, Ammubuan, Zitanga, Payagan East, Palloc, Nararagan, Cabaritan East, Centro West (Pob.).

Among the bigger cities and muni­ci­pa­li­ties in the neigh­bor­hood of Ballesteros there are Gattaran 39 km south-south-east, Solana 84 km south-south-east, Aparri 22 km east-south-east, Baggao 71 km south-east, Tuguegarao City 89 km south-south-east, Tuao 74 km south, Amulung 67 km south-south-east, Peņablanca 89 km south-south-east, Lal-lo 27 km south-east as well as 38 km south-south-east of Ballesteros the municipality Lasam.
