Balayan

Balayan is a philippine municipality in the province Batangas in Region IV-A CALABARZON which be­longs to the Luzon group of islands. The municipality Balayan is seated about 40 km west-north-west of province capital Batangas City and about 79 km south-south-west of Philippine main capital Manila.

Balayan is a 1st class municipality. Regarding urbanization Balayan is classified as partly urban. Balayan occupies an area of 108.73 km². By the end of 2007 Balayan was the home of 79,407 residents. Thus by average 730.31 people are living on one km².

Administratively the Municipality of Balayan is subdivided into 48 barangays. 12 compose the center of the city wheras the other 36 are in the outlying areas. Some of them are even several kilometers away from the center of the Municipality. The most populous are Barangay 12 (Pob.), Barangay 7 (Pob.), Caybunga, Sukol, Tactac, Malalay, Lagnas, Carenahan, Calan, Durungao, Barangay 6 (Pob.), Taludtud, Palikpikan, Langgangan, Munting Tubig.

Among the bigger cities and muni­ci­pa­li­ties in the neigh­bor­hood of Balayan there are City Of Pasig (Second District) 81 km north-north-east, Quezon City (Second District) 86 km north-north-east, City Of Antipolo (Rizal) 86 km north-east, Taguig City (Fourth District) 78 km north-north-east, City Of Manila (First District) 78 km north-north-east, Caloocan City (Third District) 83 km north-north-east, City Of Makati (Fourth District) 77 km north-north-east, City Of Parañaque (Fourth District) 69 km north-north-east, City Of Valenzuela (Third District) 88 km north-north-east as well as 66 km north-north-east of Balayan the municipality City Of Las Piñas (Fourth District).
