Babatngon Barangays

Babatngon is a philippine municipality. It is located in the province Leyte in Region VIII Eastern Visayas which is a part of the Visayas group of islands. The municipality Babatngon is seated about 25 km north-west of province capital Tacloban City and about 546 km south-east of Philippine main capital Manila. The geographic coordinates of Babatngon are 11° 25' 0'' N, 124° 50' 59'' E.

Administratively the Municipality of Babatngon is subdivided into 25 barangays. 4 compose the center of the city wheras the other 21 are in the outlying areas. Some of them are even several kilometers away from the center of the Municipality.

According to the 2007 census, Babatngon has a population of 24,067 residents and is part of the big group of 1073 cities and municipalities in the Philippines which have more than 10.000 residents but did not reach 50.000 population yet. Based on the number of its inhabitants Babatngon is number 1045 of the most populous cities of the Philippines and at 241 in Visayas group of islands and at 29 of the most populous cities of province Leyte. With an area of 115.18 km² Babatngon is one of the cities with a smaller urban area. Based on its area area, it ranks only as the 22nd of the smallest cities of the province of Leyte.

Among the bigger cities and muni­ci­pa­li­ties in the neigh­bor­hood of Babatngon there are Daanbantayan (Cebu) 91 km west-south-west, City Of Catbalogan (Samar (Western Samar)) 40 km north, City Of Baybay 81 km south, Tacloban City 24 km south-east, Calbayog City (Samar (Western Samar)) 77 km north-west, Ormoc City 52 km south-south-west, Palompon 65 km south-west, Palo 32 km south-south-east, Abuyog 78 km south-south-east as well as 48 km south of Babatngon the municipality Burauen.
