Aurora is a philippine municipality in the province Zamboanga Del Sur in Region IX Zamboanga Peninsula which belongs to the Mindanao group of islands. The municipality Aurora is seated about 25 km east-north-east of province capital Pagadian City and about 791 km south-south-east of Philippine main capital Manila.
Aurora is a 2nd class municipality. Regarding urbanization Aurora is classified as partly urban. Aurora occupies an area of 180.95 km². By the end of 2007 Aurora was the home of 47,177 residents. Thus by average 260.72 people are living on one km².
Administratively the Municipality of Aurora is subdivided into 44 barangays. One forms the center of the city wheras the other 43 are in the outlying areas. Some of them are even several kilometers away from the center of the Municipality. The most populous are Napo, Alegria, Bagong Mandaue, Panaghiusa, Baki, Bagong Pitogo, Alang-alang, Inroad, Ceboneg, Bagong Maslog, Waterfall, Kauswagan, Resthouse, Bemposa, Lubid.
