Aroroy

Aroroy is a philippine municipality in the province Masbate in Region V Bicol Region which be­longs to the Luzon group of islands. The municipality Aroroy is seated about 24 km north-west of province capital City Of Masbate and about 347 km south-east of Philippine main capital Manila.

Aroroy is a 1st class municipality. Regarding urbanization Aroroy is classified as partly urban. Aroroy occupies an area of 440.30 km². By the end of 2007 Aroroy was the home of 62,635 residents. Thus by average 142.26 people are living on one km².

Administratively the Municipality of Aroroy is subdivided into 41 barangays. One forms the center of the city wheras the other 40 are in the outlying areas. Some of them are even several kilometers away from the center of the Municipality. The most populous are Amoroy, Lanang, Balawing, Pangle, Manamoc, Concepcion, Macabug, Nabongsoran, Pinanaan, Balete, Talabaan, Cabangcalan, Dayhagan, Managanaga, San Isidro.

Among the bigger cities and muni­ci­pa­li­ties in the neigh­bor­hood of Aroroy there are City Of Sorsogon (Sorsogon) 85 km north-east, City Of Ligao (Albay) 79 km north, Legazpi City (Albay) 78 km north-north-east, Iriga City (Camarines Sur) 100 km north, Bulan (Sorsogon) 54 km east-north-east, Daraga (Locsin) (Albay) 78 km north-north-east, Guinobatan (Albay) 78 km north-north-east, Libon (Albay) 88 km north, City Of Masbate 23 km south-east as well as 99 km north of Aroroy the municipality Nabua (Camarines Sur).
