Aroroy Barangays

Aroroy is a philippine municipality. It is located in the province Masbate in Region V Bicol Region which is a part of the Luzon group of islands. The municipality Aroroy is seated about 24 km north-west of province capital City Of Masbate and about 347 km south-east of Philippine main capital Manila. The geographic coordinates of Aroroy are 12° 30' 39'' N, 123° 23' 52'' E.

Administratively the Municipality of Aroroy is subdivided into 41 barangays. One forms the center of the city wheras the other 40 are in the outlying areas. Some of them are even several kilometers away from the center of the Municipality.

According to the 2007 census, Aroroy has a population of 62,635 residents and belongs to the 294 emerging cities and municiplities in the Philippines which have more than 50,000 inhabitants but did not reach 100,000 yet. Based on the number of its inhabitants Aroroy is number 307 of the most populous cities of the Philippines and at 175 in Luzon group of islands and at 2 of the most populous cities of province Masbate. With an area of 440.30 km² Aroroy is one of the principal cities in terms of area in region Bicol Region. Based on its urban area, it is 3rd biggest city of the region and is number 2 of the biggest cities of the province of .

According to the Philippine income classification for provinces, cities and municipalities Aroroy is a 1st class municipality. The urbanization status of Aroroy is classified as partly urban.
