Abulug Barangays

Abulug is a philippine municipality. It is located in the province Cagayan in Region II Cagayan Valley which is a part of the Luzon group of islands. The municipality Abulug is seated about 92 km north-west of province capital Tuguegarao City and about 426 km north of Philippine main capital Manila. The geographic coordinates of Abulug are 18° 23' 50'' N, 121° 26' 3'' E.

Administratively the Municipality of Abulug is subdivided into 20 barangays. One forms the center of the city wheras the other 19 are in the outlying areas. Some of them are even several kilometers away from the center of the Municipality.

According to the 2007 census, Abulug has a population of 28,769 residents and is part of the big group of 1073 cities and municipalities in the Philippines which have more than 10.000 residents but did not reach 50.000 population yet. Based on the number of its inhabitants Abulug is number 888 of the most populous cities of the Philippines and at 442 in Luzon group of islands and at 17 of the most populous cities of province Cagayan. With an area of 162.60 km² Abulug is one of the cities with a smaller urban area. Based on its area area, it ranks only as the 22nd of the smallest cities of the province of Cagayan.

According to the Philippine income classification for provinces, cities and municipalities Abulug is a 3rd class municipality. The urbanization status of Abulug is classified as partly urban.

Among the bigger cities and muni­ci­pa­li­ties in the neigh­bor­hood of Abulug there are Baggao 77 km south-east, Solana 86 km south-south-east, Tuao 73 km south, Laoag City (Ilocos Norte) 93 km west-south-west, Aparri 30 km east-south-east, Tuguegarao City 91 km south-south-east, City Of Batac (Ilocos Norte) 99 km west-south-west, Peņablanca 92 km south-south-east, Amulung 70 km south-south-east as well as 32 km south-east of Abulug the municipality Lal-lo.
